As the nation commemorated the 124th death anniversary of our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. The event honored Filipino frontliners in the fight against COVID-19. We see many 'Rizals' fighting for our people, this time against an unseen adversary – a pandemic. We have our brave frontliners who continue to serve the nation in their unique capacities notwithstanding the risks to life and limb. The Knights of Rizal Negros Oriental Area commemorates the 124th Death Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal with Dumaguete City Mayor–Hon. Negros Oriental –Siquijor Council Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) joins the whole country l in commemorating the 57th Scout Memorial Day in honor of our very own 1st Class Scout Jose Fermin “Jojo” G. July 4th was the day when the United States recognized the Philippines as an independent state in 1946. Now we Filipinos celebrate July 4 as Philippine-American Friendship Day. But the Philippines only celebrated July 4 as its Independence Day until 1962. A simple celebration for the 122nd anniversary of the Philippine Independence was held on Friday at the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Headquarters in Dumaguete City.
