57th Scout Memorial Day in honor of our very own 1st Class Scout Jose Fermin “Jojo” G. Magbanua.

Negros Oriental –Siquijor Council Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) joins the whole country l in commemorating the 57th Scout Memorial Day in honor of our very own 1st Class Scout Jose Fermin “Jojo” G. Magbanua. at the BSP Scout Jose Fermin “Jojo” Magbanua Hall in Dumaguete City.

The event is dedicated to the 24 Scouts who died in 1963 due to a plane crash on their way to the 11th World Jamboree in Marathon, Greece.

The theme for this year event is The Celebration of life that mirrors the ideals of youth

The Local Council holds yearly activities to mark Scout Memorial Day, a program hosted by Scout Allan Estrello D. Lanito outfit adviser of the Bais City National High School following floral offerings at the Magbanua tomb at the Dumaguete Memorial Park and Parade in review in-front of his life-size statue at the BSP Headquarters at the Capitol Area in Dumaguete City.

 

Dr. Kenneth T. Coo the medical director of Holy Child Hospital, chapter commander of the Order of the Knights of Rizal Dumaguete City chapter and a former Scout Jojo Magbanua Awardee in 1985 is the keynote speaker.

Dr. Coo develop community leadership thru his boy scout experiences brought him to save lives as a Medical Doctor. Continue a legacy as head of the Oriental Negros Emergency Rescue Foundation Inc, The team in the ambulance is equipped with life-support system equipment to provide an immediate medical response for residents in Metro Dumaguete areas. This provides out-of-hospital acute medical care and transport to definitive care for those in need.
