124th death anniversary of our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal in Negros Oriental

As the nation commemorated the 124th death anniversary of our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. The event honored Filipino frontliners in the fight against COVID-19.

We see many 'Rizals' fighting for our people, this time against an unseen adversary – a pandemic. We have our brave frontliners who continue to serve the nation in their unique capacities notwithstanding the risks to life and limb.

The Knights of Rizal Negros Oriental Area commemorates the 124th Death Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal with Dumaguete City Mayor–Hon. Felipe Antonio Remollo and Presidential Legal Counsel–Secretary Salvador Panelo as the guest.The event was attended by the Department Head in the City Government of Dumaguete, Philippine National Police, The Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine Army during the flag-raising and floral offering at the Rizal Monument in Quezon Park .

In the afternoon a Knighting, Chartering and Awarding Ceremonies at the Col. Roman Yap Hall, Silliman University ROTC Center, Dumaguete City. The Tanjay City Chapter is the third chapter chartered under the Negros Oriental Area. The chapter is led by their Chapter Commander – Sir Gerard Jude C. Bumanglag KCR. Sir Balbino P. Locsin,KOR and Sir Greggie E. Jacildo, KOR as Trustees The event also featured the elevation and exaltation of worthy knights, elevation to 2nd degree (Knight Officer of Rizal) of Sir Cloyd C. Catan, KR, Exaltation to 3rd degree (Knight Commander of Rizal): Sir Angelo Jesus Vicente V. Arias, KOR,Sir Carlos M. Magtolis, Jr., KOR,Sir Renante C. Lingcong, KOR,Sir Rodolfo Jull B. Locsin, Jr., KOR,Sir Gerard Jude C. Bumanglag, KOR The event was also the awarding of the Lifetime Membership Plaque to Sir Rafael Crescencio C. Tan, Jr. KCR. The ceremony was presided over by Sir Ambassador MacArthur F. Corsino KGOR, Sir Henry A. Sojor KGOR, and Sir Charles L. Tuozo KCR. This commemorates the nationalism and martyrdom of Rizal. His life becomes a constant reminder to all of us to fulfill our duties to our country and to lead in making a better tomorrow for the generations to come.
