DUMAGUETE NATIVE ELECTED PRINCETON TRUSTEE AT AGE 23

 Enzo Miguel Kho, a 23-year-old native of Dumaguete and Mabinay Negros Oriental , achieved a major milestone after he was elected to Princeton University's Board of Trustees as a Young Alumni Trustee.



Kho, who graduated from Princeton in 2026 with a bachelor's degree in sociology and a certificate in urban studies, was designated to serve a four-year term on the board spanning from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2030.

Throughout his undergraduate years, Kho demonstrated outstanding student leadership. He served as the president of Princeton's Undergraduate Student Government, actively engaged with the Princeton Filipino Community, and co-founded the Alliance of Empowered Youth in the Philippines. His extensive contributions to the campus community earned him the prestigious Walter E. Hope Class of 1901 Medal.

Following his graduation and appointment, Kho prepared to advance his academic career by pursuing a master's degree in politics and international relations at Peking University as a Yenching Scholar.

  Eddie Sinco Romero, a national artist for film and broadcast arts, celebrated his 100th birthday on behalf of the people of Dumaguete and the Province of  Negros Oriental . DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental — To marks a significant milestone as the Capitol of Negros Oriental celebrates its 100th anniversary. This historic building, standing as a testament to the province's rich political, cultural, and socio-economic heritage, was honored with a historical marker from the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP). The event is led by NHCP Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo, Governor Manuel “Chaco” Sagarbarria, LGU Mayors and the entire Provincial Government of Negros Oriental.   The Capitol's story begins with its original structure near the shore, which was tragically destroyed by fire in 1922. The provincial government then relocated the Capital to its current site, where construction of the new building began in 1924.
