She has made her art career in Negros Oriental for more than twenty years, establishing her presence not only in the realms of painting, mixed media, and music, but in ceramics as well. In celebration with Arts Month for February 2024, we from the National Museum of the Philippines – Dumaguete aims to showcase the art works of Jana Jumalon. We intend to showcase a variety of earthenware she has created throughout her career, curated by the artist herself. This exhibition is a reflection on the breadth of an artist's vast study of a medium rooted in our culture for thousands of years, pulling from the utilitarian kulon to the abstract expression of sculpture to the contemporary explorations of pottery today.   In Dumaguete City, Dr. Jose Rizal's 127th death anniversary resonated with a call for active contribution from the youth.     Dumaguete City, November 24, 2023 — The Negros Island History, Heritage & Arts Society, in collaboration with the City Government of Dumaguete,Provincial Government of Negros Oriental , the Paulinian Art Society, and the Buglas Reading & Writers Club, joined hands to commemorate the 125th Negros Oriental Liberation Day.
