Knights of Rizal celebration of 127th Rizal Day in Negros Oriental and Panay Area

In Dumaguete City, Dr. Jose Rizal's 127th death anniversary resonated with a call for active contribution from the youth. Former Dumaguete SK Federation Chairman   Renz Macion, the commemorative speaker, urged young people to "make our freedom more robust and inclusive" by fostering their potential not just for personal gain, but for the collective good.

His message in the commemoration rites was loud and clear for all those present that include not only the government officials and employees but also teachers, uniform service personnel, members of the civil society organizations and young leaders of the community: “the youth are not merely the future; we are the present. Let us foster our potential, not just for personal gain but for the collective betterment of our beloved country.”

The morning began with a wreath-laying ceremony led by Vice-Mayor Isabel  Longa Sagabarria, honoring Rizal's martyrdom that inspired the fight for freedom. Patriotic music and performances further amplified the theme: "Rizal: Pundasyon ng Kahapon, Isinasabuhay Ngayon" (Rizal: Yesterday's Foundation, Lived Today).
