The illustrious career of Woodrow RR Cual  Maquiling Jr., a prominent figure in the Philippine tourism industry, was celebrated in a grand 40th birthday bash. The event, held at Bay Shores Dumaguete Piapi Beach, was a testament to the impact he has made throughout his years of service. With an impressive resume that includes the present  Executive Director of the Negros Oriental Tourism Board, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Tourism, and Undersecretary of the DOT, Woodrow Maquiling Jr. has truly left his mark on the world of tourism.




 

Born and raised in Dumaguete Negros Oriental, Woodrow Maquiling Jr. started his journey in the tourism industry as the Tourism Planning officer of the Province and later on  City Tourism Officer of Dumaguete. His passion and dedication to the field led him to take on more significant roles in the Department of Tourism. As Assistant Secretary and later Undersecretary, he played a crucial role in shaping the Philippine tourism landscape.

 

His tenure as the Regional Director of the National Capital Region (NCR) Department of Tourism further solidified his reputation as a key player in the industry. Through his various roles, Woodrow has consistently demonstrated his commitment to promoting and developing the tourism sector in the Philippines.

The grand birthday celebration was a star-studded affair, with attendees from various sectors in Negros Oriental. The event was hosted by Ruvilu Villaflores Lumacao and former Miss Negros Oriental Bebsy Colaljo Lamis. It was a night filled with entertainment, camaraderie, and a heartfelt tribute to Woodrow's accomplishments.

 

The venue, Bay Shores Dumaguete Piapi Beach, provided a picturesque backdrop for the event. Guests were treated to a dreamy and relaxing view of the lush green garden

In Dumaguete City, the commemoration, held at Quezon Park, was spearheaded by the Order of the Knights of Rizal Negros Oriental Chapter and the Rizal Youth Club of Silliman University.
