Oktoberfest in Oriental Negros

 October is the month full of culture and Heritage celebrations in Negros Oriental but with this pandemic, we limit the faces to faces activities and some of these are online virtually. 


Our first event is Intellectual Property 101 for Art and Culture Forum with our guest speaker Atty Izzy Martin Roxas Maxino.Organized by the cultural officer Gemma  Laxina Iso from the Institute of Negros Oriental Arts and Culture Office and Myla Mae Bromo-Abellana of Provincial Tourism Office.Just a few limited participants by cultural workers and artists at D'Dons Restaurant with a very delicious appetizer, cakes, and drinks to top it all.

Opening Salvo for October is the Bais City Division of the Department of Education thru Dr. Dexter Y. Aguilar school division superintendent, division heads, LRMS Education Program Supervisor for Learning Resource  Maria Ligaya G. Panganiban and our Social Studies/Social Sciences Teachers of Bais City had a workshop on the finalization of the division local heritage matrix ( DLHM) and division contextualized curriculum matrix ( DCCM)




The Training and Writeshop were guided with the following objectives: 1. Revisit and finalize the Division Local Heritage Matrix (DLHM) and the Division Contextualized Curriculum Matrix (DCCM).2. Develop a Monitoring and Evaluation plan and tools for the implementation of a contextualized curriculum.3. Provide teachers with a basis for contextualization of instruction and development of local materials.4. Create and sustain sound contextualization practices.5. Present and critique revalidated research per district. 6. Coding of competence and securing of signed research documents.7. Finalize the Division Local Heritage Matrix (DLHM) following the prescribed standard format.8. Craft the Division Contextualized Curriculum Matrix (DCCM) based on the finalized DLHM. 9. Finalize the DCCM for reproduction. 



To enhance the Division Local Heritage Matrix, Sir Penn T. Larena , a Baisanon historian,Civic  Leader  and History Professor, was invited as the resource speaker. He talked about the cultural heritage, public history, and identity of Bais City. 



The Five-Day Write shop on the Finalization of the Division Local Heritage Matrix (DLHM) and Division Contextualized Curriculum Matrix (DCCM) was a challenging activity. The writer-researchers presented their research based on Local Heritage Themes, what learners should know about, what learners should think and feel about, and what learners should be able to do to transfer learning.

To celebrate National Scouting Month the BSP Negros Oriental-Siquijor Council did a Virtual Kick-Off Ceremony. Yours truly was the guest speaker of the 85th Diamond Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.The participation of our young scouts from all over the Province. 



We are so Thankful to our adult leaders Sir Bern Berber Arcaya, Prof. Phitz Jaculbe Enojo, Sir Gary Boy Desales, Sir Allan Estrello D. LanitoLeif Ferraren, and Scouts for their active participation and cooperation. Big thanks and Kudos to Technical Team led by our CSE Queen Marie Truno Ferraren, Sir Marlon Fernandez Sumanoy, ES Dan Claude Bonifacio, ES Kristoffer David Dy, and Cezar Lopez. Special thanks to Ma’am Geralyn Chiu and her family for hosting the zoom meeting.

National Scouting Month Kick off Virtual Program 



I joined the entire nation and the world in celebrating World Teacher’s Week. With the theme “Teachers at the Heart of Education Recovery,” we salute our modern-day heroes, who touch lives and develop young students to become better individuals and citizens of our country. October is a festive month every year but due to the pandemic, social distancing, and health protocol we are off to celebrate our events thru a virtual online platform, intimate parties with family and relatives, and school reunions thru zoom. I hope we can celebrate with everybody soon Happy Oktoberfest
