Central Visayas Regional Assembly 2024 Knights of Rizal
The Negros Oriental Area stood tall as it hosted
this year's Central Visayas Regional Assembly, welcoming chapters from Cebu,
Iloilo, and Negros Oriental to Dumaguete City on June 1. The day began with a
wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Monument in Dumaguete Quezon Park, setting
a solemn tone for the proceedings to follow at Bethel Guest House.
Negros Oriental Area with Supreme Council
The assembly was filled with inspiring speeches,
informative lectures, and solemn ceremonies, as members of the region gathered
to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Jose Rizal. The highlight of the event was the
conferment ceremony, where some members received the prestigious KGOR and KGCR
ranks in a ceremony officiated by the Supreme Council.
The new Regional, Deputy Regional, and Area
Commanders of Central Visayas took their oath of office in the presence of
Supreme Commander Sir Raymundo A. del Rosario, KGCR, marking a new chapter in
the Knights of Rizal organization.

One knight from the Dumaguete City Chapter and its Chapter Commander Sir Dr Kenneth T Coo KCR DSM was conferred the rank of 4th degree Knight Grand Officer of Rizal KGOR during the Central Visayas Regional Assembly held June 1, 2024 at Bethel Guest House, Dumaguete City. Sir Kenneth Coo also received the Distinguished Service Star DSS during the said assembly. Two other knights from the Negros Oriental Chapter Deputy Chapter Commander Sir Josefino T. Larena KCR DSM and Sir Dr Angelo Jesus V. Arias KCR DSM were also conferred the same 4th degree rank of KGOR. Ceremony was led by Supreme Commander Sir Raymundo Del Rosario KGCR, Supreme Chancellor Sir Mark Boado KGOR, Supreme Pursuivant Sir Joel Tuplano KGOR, Supreme Exchequer Sir Frisco San Juan KGOR, Deputy Supreme Pursuivant Sir Jose Vicente Salazar KGOR and Deputy Supreme Exchequer Sir Rafael Crescencio Tan Jr KGOR with Admin Officer Sir Timothy Justine Francisco KCR.
Eleven (11) knights of the Negros Oriental Area
received the Distinguished Service Star DSS during the Central Visayas Regional
Assembly held on June 1, 2024 at Bethel Guest House, Rizal Boulevard, Dumaguete
City, namely, Sir Charles Lelis Tuozo KCR, Sir Rafael Crescencio Tan KGOR, Sir
Rodolfo Jull B Locsin Jr. KCR and Sir Atanacio Llena KCR all of the Negros
Oriental Chapter, Sir Kenneth Coo KGOR of Dumaguete City Chapter, Sir Rusmar
Tijing KCR of Bayawan City Chapter, Sir Gerard Jude Bumanglag KCR of Tanjay
City Chapter, Sir Felipe Antonio Remollo KCR and Sir Rey Lyndon Lawas KCR of
Dumaguete Aguilas Chapter, Sir Alden Rabina KCR of Dept Ed Dumagute Chapter and
Sir Dax Montealegre KCR of Canlaon City.
Sir Mayor
Galicano Truita, Dauin Chapter Commander, received the Distinguished Service
Medal Award, highlighting his notable contributions in public service.
Additionally, the Distinguished Service Cross (DSC) was awarded to Sir Bernardo
Sarmiento KCR LM of the Montreal (Canada) Chapter, underscoring the influence
and global reach of the Knights of Rizal organization. Supreme Commander Sir
Raymond A. Del Rosario bestowed the highest degree of the Order, the Knight
Grand Cross of Rizal (KGCR), upon Sir Amb. Dr. MacArthur Flores Corsino,
recognizing his exceptional service.
The assembly concluded with a plenary session in
the afternoon, where speakers discussed Rizal's life works and teachings in
relation to the modern world. Dr. Earl Jude Paul L. Cleope and Dr. Henry Sojor
shared insights on Rizal's leadership qualities and legacy, inspiring the
knights to continue their mission with renewed purpose.
The goal of the Knights of Rizal in Central Visayas
was to preserve Dr. Jose Rizal's legacy and carry on his contributions to
social improvement. The Central Visayas Regional Assembly served as both a
reminder of the importance of the Knights of Rizal's efforts in advancing the
ideals and principles of their cherished order and a magnificent display of the
organization's strength and unity in the area.
