September Art Avenue
September is a month full of surprises and that brought the
artistic inner talent and skills to celebrate a great endeavor to present the best
of them.
Dumaguete visual artist, fine arts professor and entrepreneur
Babbu Wenceslao, who owns the El Amigo Art Space along Silliman Ave. Friends ,Artist and
guests celebrated the opening reception of Babbu Wenceslao’s solo exhibit,
ASANAMO, last September 10thin Mugna Art Gallery
ASANAMO,
which is vernacular for “Where are you?,” the artist's three most recent
masterpieces as well as some of his best earlier creations. Congratulations. to
Vincent Lopez for managing the painstaking planning that went into this
incredible presentation.
This month's Self Portrait
exhibit is at the Shelter Gallery. From September 3 to September 25,2022,
Vanessa Gaston Copeland will host her Surface Tension Art Exhibition. Vanessa
Gaston Copeland abandons her professional habits as an architect and designer
in favor of more irrational ways of creating. She taps into the unconscious
mind through spontaneous painting to reveal the common experience and intricate
entanglements of joy, sorrow, tragedy, and relief. The featured piece explores
the durability of unique acrylic "stains." Visit and be amazed. It
relinquishes the artist's control over her creation and invites the variables
of liquid movement, air, temperature, and gravity for spontaneous art to take
life and ultimately become.
In order to expand the ways in
which distinctive local artistic experiences can be shared with more people,
the Arts Council of Cebu Foundation, Inc. and Ayala Center Cebu collaborated
for the fourth iteration of the beloved Tubô Cebu Art Fair.
15 Dumaguete Artists
participated in this regional art fair as they showcase different styles and colors. Tubô collects artwork from all throughout the region, showcasing
a variety of dialects, cultures, and personalities to honor the different
artistic abilities of the Visayan region. While aiming to be more deliberate in
its function as a distributor of creation, Tubô also works to develop more
active and sympathetic programming for the local art scene.
Tubô offers a platform for
visual artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts in the Visayas to engage,
educate, and flourish by combining virtual and physical formats to meet any art
lover's desire.

A universal language exists in
art. It enables individuals to express themselves through vivid color, deep
stories, and heartfelt songs. Each work of art offers a window into the past.
Through sculptures, architecture, paintings, and drawings, artists have
communicated history throughout history.
