“Jose Rizal: Inspiration to the Arts.”

One of the highlights of the National Arts Month Celebration in Negros Oriental is the Rizalina Popup Art Exhibit from Feb 16 to 28,2021 in the Jose Rizal Park, Tanjay City which is another project by the Knights of Rizal Tanjay City Chapter through the leadership of their Chapter Commander Sir Gerard Jude C. Bumanglag, KCR, MD, approved by the City Mayor Reynaldo Concepcion thru City Administrator Atty. Anthony Ferrolino, Vice Mayor Neil Salma of the Sangguniang Panlungsod and the support of the Negros Oriental Chapter Knights of Rizal .
The Pop-up Art Gallery is dubbed as “Jose Rizal: Inspiration to the Arts.” According to Gerard Jude C. Bumanglag, KCR, MD we are proud to say that within a short period of time, we were able to channel every Rizalian component into a single platform of artistic expression. We can only hope and pray that onlookers would ultimately develop a sense of intimacy or a personal relationship to ART in its myriad forms and no less than the life, ideals and heroism of Dr. Jose Rizal himself.
In this light, let us continue to build collaborations and alliances with other KOR chapters here in our motherland and also around the globe in order for us to reach out, foster camaraderie and highlight our commonalities as proud members of the Knights of Rizal. We may encounter hardships and many a disagreement along the way which may hamper or delay important matters, but as the Caballeros de Rizal, so to say, let us ride each challenge with grace, love and respect. This will feature different paintings depicting our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. It will showcase some works of Jose Rizal as well.
One of the highlights of this exhibit is the integration of “Ang Walang Kamatayang Pag-iibigan nina Pepe at Leonor,” a poetry-reading project initiated by Sir Alwyn Galela, KGOR, Cleveland Chapter from Ohio USA, through his Facebook page and Youtube channel “Musing of a Knights of Rizal,” in collaboration with Sir Rado Gatchalian, KR, Northern Sydney Chapter, through his Facebook pages “The FILOsopher,” “Tula’t Panulat para kay Rizal,” and “Rizaliana Corner.” Sir Rado Gatchalian,KR wrote the poem “Ang Aking Maria Clara” to represent Pepe and Sir Alwyn Galela , KGOR wrote “Saan Ka Aking Mahal” to represent Leonor. Hedda Tady of Rise Pinoy, based in Bangkok, Thailand, interpreted the poem as Leonor. This art exhibit merged with poetry intensifies Jose Rizal both as an artist and poet himself. It is the hope of this project to inspire the residents of Tanjay City and the rest of Negros Oriental to nurture their love for the hero and our country through the appreciation of paintings and poetry.
"Rizal and my motherland Visual Artist Hans Henry Lozada " The first-ever public art exhibit in Tanjay city. One of the artwork to be featured will be the famous Filipiniana painter from Pulilan, Bulacan Juanito Torres whose works were hammered very high in art auctions. One of a few artwork submissions from Artists and Art Collectors is this particular piece that features Rizal's women namely Josephine Bracken , Leonor Rivera, and of course, Rizal's first love Segunda Katigbak. Tanjayanon Hans Henry Lozada is one of the local Visual Artists to be included in his artwork about our National Hero Jose Rizal . We commend all the officers and members of the KOR Tanjay City Chapter for initiating this noble project. This also strengthens our brotherly partnership among KOR across the globe. This project has made it possible for the Philippines (through Tanjay City), Ohio USA, and Australia to work hand-in-hand with the same cause and passion. Tanjay City is the center of Festivals,Arts, and Culture in the Province. As we appreciate the artistry and Talents of every Filipinos and Tanjayanon . Congratulations KOR Tanjay City Chapter!
